But that strategizing wasnt enough to spare Lincoln from the elements.

Passersby in Washington did what people of the 2020s do anytime something notable happens.
They capturedphotosandvideos, posting them to social media for all the world to see.
An Abe Lincoln wax statue in DC has melted.
Williams told the Post that this particular wax was supposed to endure heat up to 140 degrees.
Previous works of art by Williams done in wax have been intentionally melted bylighting wicksattached to the sculptures.
In that way, the art is intended to be interactive.
The elements got to Lincoln before humans could do their worst.
Or, in some ways, we already have done our worst on account of climate change.
