The Change-6 mission launched from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center at 5:30 a.m.
The lunar probe was riding on board Chinas largest rocket, the 57-meter-tall Long March-5.

China has had tremendous success with its lunar missions so far.
The gear will be used to measure the distance between Earth and the Moon.
The probe is expected to land on the Moon in early June.
