So scientists have been desperate to find newer antibiotics that can treat these resistant infections.
Orlynvah is the first drug of its kind.
The drug has been approved to treat certain uncomplicated UTIs caused byEscherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, or Proteusmirabilisbacteria.
The drug failed to pass clinical trials testing its effectiveness against complicated UTIs or complicated intra-abdominal infections.
Still, Orlynvah should be able to prevent plenty of UTI-related misery.
