What I mean by that is each episodeburies itself into my headso that I can think of nothing else.
That especially goes for the seasons third episode, Who Is Alive?
Since the episode jumped between each character almost individually, were going to break this down story by story.
The search for Ms. Casey isn’t even the best thing about the new Severance.Image: Apple TV+
Why does Lumon have a room full of goats in its office building?
Which they do, sort of.
Mark and Helly find a massive room filled with rolling, grass-covered hills.

That is until Mark wins them over by revealing they think Lumon is lying about Ms. Casey.
Turns out, everyone there does know her.
They really like her too and vow to not stop Mark and Helly in their quest.

The whole thing was that perfect blend of creepy and funnySeveranceis known for.
Plus, weve now seen where the goats go.
But to what end and why does the department leader think she might be killed?
Not a great day for Milchick. – Apple TV+
What do all these other people do there?
The two strike up an awkward conversation and its simply glorious.
This is exactly what weve been waiting to see.
This storyline is still super weird. – Apple TV+
How someone on the outside who knows and loves these people would react to spending time with an innie.
Gretchen cautiously tells Dylan about their family and her disappointment in him.
Hes understandably confused but ultimately delighted by the whole thing.
His task in the search for Ms. Casey brings him back to Optics and Design, Burts old department.
Once there, he runs into Burts old colleague Felicia and the two share a few laughs about him.
Milchick finds Natalie in his office.
The aim is to make him feel more a part of the team and he says it worked.
Later, we see him hide the paintings in a storage room.
Maybe its an indication his commitment is Lumon is deteriorating?
The flirting only adds to it.
Meanwhile, Devon tells outtie Mark about it and the two laugh.
The siblings are working on… something.
More on that in a minute.
Last we saw her, she was evading Mark and all his Lumon questions.
And though she kept on driving, eventually, she turned around.
We see her next back at Lumon in the parking lot waiting to talk to outtie Helly.
Seems shes thought about that new position and has a counter offer.
She wants Milchick out and to finish her work with Cold Harbor on the severed floor.
Helly thinks shes being too egotistical but says shell let her plead her case to the board.
The two walk back toward the building when Harmony has a change of heart.
She thinks shes being lured into some kind of trap and quickly leaves.
This storyline, almost more than the rest, is keeping us riveted.
We also dont know what outtie Hellys intentions are.
It feels like the most mysterious storyline on the show so far.
Outtie Mark
And yet, weve saved the best for last, just like the episode did.
Later, he and his sister are creating a messageWho is alive?
Mark agrees to let her try and reintegrate him.
And thats how, down in Marks basement, Regabhi begins the procedure.
We then watch as Marks outtie self and innie self start to become one.
A act that, if it works, will change everything.
So yeahWho Is Alive?
is a mind fuck of an episode ofSeverence.
Each character dove deeper into the mystery of themselves and, thereby, the mysteries of Lumon.
Were only three episodes into a 10-episode season, and we are dying to see what happens next.
