And, to that end, it succeeds and then some.
Which is exactly the point.
Art comes back and soon Sienna gets out of a mental institution.

Terrifier 3jumps between Art and Siennas stories for the majority of the film.
These scenes, while often working against the narrative drive, are by far the most entertaining.
Art is why you sat down to watchTerrifier 3.
Thats what sets Art apart from typical horror film slashers like Freddy, Jason, and Michael.
Those guys, with the occasional exception of Freddy, care mainly about the kill.
Art seems to care less about the kill and more about the dismemberment.
He doesnt just want his victims dead.
He wants to savor the act of killing.
Its incredibly gruesome but thats Art andTerrifier.
Anyone that close to Sienna cant be in for a happy ending.
You know they have to be.
Thats the whole point.
But often the editing between Art and Sienna feels disconnected and disjointed, like theyre in two different movies.
You figure it out though.
Its not rocket science.
Which, as I said above, is largely the point.
Leone isnt here to make some kind of deep, meaningful film about trauma or survival.
Nowhere is that better seen in the films shockingly restrained flashbacks.
So, as expected,Terrifier 3dives a little deeper into that, but its barely a taste.
Clearly, Leone doesnt want to demystify his characters yet, even though you think hes about to.
But outside of one specific scene, everything about them is still left as a great big tease.
Its a bit of a bummer.
And that he does.
If you go in expecting anything more, youll probably be disappointed.
But, ultimately, Leones passion for pure, unfiltered shock value is whats truly on display.
Terrifier 3had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest 2024 in Austin, Texas this week.
It opens everywhere on October 11.
