U.S. regulators are looking into whether Tesla committed securities or wire fraud, according to a report fromReuterson Wednesday.
This is the first time weve heard which specific crimes are allegedly under investigation.

They are also examining whether Tesla committed securities fraud by deceiving investors, two of the sources said.
The DOJ and Securities and Exchange Commission declined to comment.
Tesla didnt immediately respond to a request for comment.
Tesla is no stranger to federal probes over its self-driving system.
Last October, Tesla confirmed that theDOJ filed a subpoenafor more information about Teslas self-driving features.
Musk recently made remarks regarding Teslas push formore autonomous vehiclesin the companys latest earnings call.
