Even still, the $1,000 Vizio 86-inch Smart TV pushes the boundaries of size and capabilities.
If budget TVs are all about tradeoffs, then this big boy has plenty.
The V4K86C-0804 pairs better when you link it with one of the latest Vizio 2.1 soundbars.

Pros
Cons
The 86-incher is an interesting option at $1,000 MSRP for its mammoth size.
There is the big VizioQuantum and Quantum Pro QLEDsgoing for at or less than Vizios 86-inch LED.
And dont let the size steer you away from a deal.

There is a use case for these types of displays.
My office watched a week and a half of the 2024 Paris Olympics action with Vizios 86-inch 4K TV.
For one, Vizios TV doesnt come with an ethernet port.

That wouldnt prove as big of an issue if the TV did not recognize my office WiFi.
Instead, I was signed on with more spotty guest WiFi at slower internet speeds.
The feet go on far to the ends of the TV, 63 inches apart.

I could rack it with most of my strength and not even hear the plastic strain.
Part of that is because its a thick TV.
It measures nearly 17 inches deep with the stand.

Otherwise, its a little more three inches at its thickest point.
In the end, the TVs port selection leaves a lot of options off the table.
The U.S. is full of zip codes where certain telecom companies have monopolies on the internet.

At the very least,Vizios redesigned UIis now easier than ever to navigate.
Simply put, the UI does the job.
I found that there are not many parameters you really need to change to get the most cinematic experience.
My suggestion is to switch it back to normal for a more theater-like experience.
There are a few advanced options that you may want to stray away from.
Active Pixel Tuning will result in an overly sharpened image with an extra bit of unwanted smoothing.
Youll want to keep backlight control on for the sake of better contrast.
The blacks were, on the whole, fairly deep.
Gaming is also a fine time on the 86-inch Vizio.
The gameplay on both PS5 and Xbox Series X was smooth at their max FPS.
Even a few degrees offline youll see the color morph and decay.
Youll need to keep it just within the silhouette of the TV to get the best viewing experience.
As long as you toe the line, its a fine viewing experience.
After that, installation was easy.
Its obviously meant to pair well with Vizios specific software suite.
The Quickfit system is fairly simple and effective, though its not exactly locking the soundbar into place.
Vizio wants users to plug it directly into the TVs eARC HDMI port.
Instead, it feels more like a budget-friendly addition to a more conservative display.
All that aside, youll still find the 4K viewing experience is a good one.
